Ethiopian Community Organization
In Houston (E. C. O. H)
incorporated
as none profit organization under the laws of the State of Texas and has
a 501(C) 3 non-profit corporation title. E.C.O.H is a non-profit,
non-sectarian, and non-political organization and runs by Ethiopians who
volunteer their time, energy, and financial resources to benefit their
fellow citizens and its members. E.C.O.H has been actively serving the
Ethiopians in Houston since in 1980.
The purposes and objectives of E.C.O.H is anchored on:

Engaging in Membership
Development:
By
increasing the diversity and inclusiveness of the members. E.C.O.H
believe that this can create a conducive environment for diverse
out looks.

Cohesive Networking Development: With increase flow of
information, E.C.O.H believe to create an environment where
members could learn and benefit from other individuals, or groups best
practices.
3. Objecve Advocacy Services: E.C.O.H believe to
represent and promote the
interest of the community.
4. Hospitality: Welcoming all to take part and ownership of
the organization. |
These
can be achieved with collective Positive thought, action, and habits to do
what is great for E.C.O.H.
E.C.H.O is an equal opportunity social service provider making no
discrimination between ethnic line, political or religious beliefs, color,
and sex of the members it serves
Over the years, E.C.O.H has produced great many wonderful leaders and
significantly helps numerous Ethiopians here and abroad. E.C.O.H has
also been known and listed as one of the top ten organizations in the
City of Houston for those who seeks out to serve as an elected city
official; he or she must seek the support of E. C. O. H for the a better
outcome.
E. C. O. H earns such status through the hard work, deep–rooted
commitment, and devotion of Ethiopians and its active members.
E. C. O. H is one of the lead active member nations of the
African Community Organization In Houston.
E.C.H.O
has two governing bodies:
1.
The Elected Board of Directors, which consist of five members and
among other task, they oversee the work of the Executive Officers and
provide general guidance and advice.
2.
The Elected Executive Officers, which consist of seven members
and conduct the
daily business affairs of the organization.
E.C.O.H’s
main financial resource drive from its member through the form of
membership fees, donations, and other fundraising activities. Despite the financial hardship, E.C.O.H has been a bridge for
many Ethiopians. Among many such examples, it’s the inception as well
as the birth of the Ethiopians Soccer Federation in North America is one
of the few task that we proud to mention. There are many indicators as
well as possibilities that exist for E.C.O.H to grow big. As you may
have witnessed the transition of our children from boyhood to a
teenager, it’s such evident that make E.C.O.H leaders to think
objectively than subjectively and accept the fact that the Time with
Needs is now. It ‘s this needs that drive us to hold on and look
forward for the possibilities to reach out the generation to come and to
lay the foundation for them to build a much stronger community ahead.
E.C.O.H leaders are optimistic, that the organization will continue to
shine and be a much stronger bridge for all Ethiopians here in Houston
and abroad.
